We finished reorganizing our fiction books into genres shortly after the Christmas break. This week, I had the students complete a survey to provide us with feedback. Here's what they had to say!
Most student prefer the books organized by genres better, but there was a good chunk of students that just don't care how the books are organized. I'm not sure if that is because they aren't big readers (insert gasp here), or because they can find books no matter they are in the library. Further questioning is needed. |
More importantly to me, I wanted to know if the rearranging of titles was changing reading behaviors! I'm pleased that student are reporting to have been trying new titles and series, but see I need to do some work on how to use the catalog (some things changed when I added in a "location").

- "It is some what easier to find books because if a person doesn't have a favorite author then they can look for their favorite genre."
- "I can find science fiction and fiction books easier and I really like those genres."
